We are a used bookstore with reading and collectible copies, and with some new titles which include new fiction, local authors and things of interest. Our used books are ½ the cover price, our new are cover price and collectible books are priced competitively. We do have a store credit where you can bring books in trade and receive credit which can be used towards the purchase of our used books.
We can order new books for you, we can look for used books that you have been trying to find and of course we love to recommend books for you to read! Our Job is Reading!
History
Haven Books Plus originally named Books Plus, was started in 1983 by Mabel Niles as a summer only off shoot of her son’s bookstore in Osseo Minnesota. It was located in what was known as midtown Crosslake between The General Store/ Dagget Brook clothing, and the Dairy Queen. She sold it in 1987 to one of her employees and the Serakos family owned it until I bought it 1999 and renamed it Haven Books. In 2001 I expanded into the space next door tripling my space and in 2003 expanded into the space behind my original store and ending up with the entire space of that building. In 2006 We relocated to the new building built next to Pine Peaks restaurant and Hotel and opened year round.
